Travel Vaccinations

The surgery offers Travel Vaccinations.

Please collect a form from the reception team and provide a minimum of 8 weeks’ notice before travel; we may unfortunately need to refer onto a private Travel clinic if within 8 weeks of travelling.

Urgent Travel Vaccinations

Please note we do not offer urgent travel vaccination appointments. If you need urgent vaccinations please contact a private travel clinic.

What Vaccinations are Available at the Surgery

The practice is able to offer NHS vaccinations, for example, Diphtheria, Tetanus, Polio, Hepatitis A and Typhoid. We do not offer Rabies, Yellow fever, Japanese encephalitis, cholera, meningitis, tick-borne encephalitis and hepatitis B – these can be given at a private clinic.

Private Vaccinations

You will need to contact a private clinic that will be able to provide further information and their fees.

All women aged between 50 and 70 years are invited by breast screening services every three years.

In the meantime, if you’re worried about breast cancer symptoms, such as a lump or an area of thickened tissue in a breast, or you notice that your breasts look or feel different from what’s normal for you, do not wait to be offered to screen. See a GP.

Minor Surgery

The removal of moles, cysts, skin tags and ingrowing toe nails can be performed at the surgery.  We also offer joint injections for certain musculoskeletal problems.

Contraceptive Implants and Coil Devices

The practice has trained doctors and nurses able to fit and remove contraceptive implants and coils. For further information on these contraceptive devices visit leedssexualhealth.com or contact our receptionist to arrange to speak to one of our clinicians.

Specialist Nurse Clinics

Our nurses are qualified and able to provide long term condition reviews for those patients with chronic diseases such as;

  • Asthma
  • Chronic Obstructive Airways Disease (COPD)
  • Stroke
  • Diabetes
  • Kidney Disease
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Heart conditions

If you have any of the above conditions you will be contacted on a yearly basis for review (Occasionally you may be asked to attend for a six-month review).  It is important that you attend your annual review to ensure your condition is being managed appropriately and to ensure any concerns are being addressed to enable you to deal with your condition between reviews.

For those patients who have more than one long term condition, we are trying to combine the conditions so we can do them all at one review, thus reducing the need for more than one attendance. Please note for some conditions investigations such as a blood test may be required before you attend the review.

Baby Clinics and Immunisations

Due to the Coronavirus, we have suspended our ‘drop in’ baby clinic and babies will now be seen on an appointment basis only.

Despite the recent Coronavirus pandemic, it is still important your child continues to receive their routine immunisations and you are given the opportunity to discuss any concerns you may have about your baby/child. You can arrange an appointment on any day but you must first telephone the surgery and speak to one of our Nurses who will explain the appointment process.

Vaccinating your child protects them from serious illnesses and Dr Taylor and partners strongly recommend all children are fully immunised.

It is important that you register your baby at the practice at your earliest convenience. To do this you will need to complete a registration form at the practice. Please ensure you have the baby’s NHS number when completing the form, this can be found in the baby’s red book.

Please note the nurse giving the immunisations will require parental consent, if neither parents are attending please provide written consent.
